CBP Non-declared Split Bills: One Conveyance per Entry

Date Published: 2020-02-26

Cargo moving on the same bill but not declared in the ACE manifest system as a split is not eligible for split entry processing. As such, one entry per conveyance is required. This applies to a single house bill split across multiple master bills.

It is the filer’s responsibility to ensure that cargo on a single bill of lading, moving on multiple conveyances, and not declared as a split are entered separately.

ACE Cargo Release has been coded to enforce this, and consequently any entry that has non-declared split bills of lading from more than one importing conveyance will be rejected, effective April 1, 2020.
